ENFORCEMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT OBLIGATIONS
When a parent fails to pay the court-ordered child support or does not pay the full amount, the child support enforcement agency may do one or more of the following:
· Wage garnishment
· Tax intercept
· Non-compliance notice
· Credit Reporting
· Passport Denial
· Liens
· Court Action- If court action is necessary and the non-custodial parent lives in Alamance County; the papers are given to the Alamance County Sherriff’s department to serve.
If the non-custodial parent lives in another county, the papers are given to the county sheriff where the non-custodial parent lives.

The child support case must meet certain criteria for certain enforcement remedies. It is the child supports office responsibility to determine the best course of action on each case.
