RECYCLING PROGRAM


Alamance
County
is a mandated recycling county.

 

MANDATORY TARGETED RECYCLABLES

* Cans - aluminum beverage cans (no pet food cans)

* Glass - clear and brown glass bottles and jars (food and drink)

* Newspaper - please, only newspaper and newspaper inserts

* Clean Corrugated Cardboard – please remove all debris, flatten as much as possible

 

VOLUNTARY RECYCLABLES AT THE LANDFILL

* Cans - steel/ metal food and beverage cans (rinsed)

* Magazines/ Catalogs

* Phone books
* Plastic - milk, water, soda bottles and colored plastic containers
   (automotive plastic containers go in trash - not recyclables)

* Used motor oil
* Used oil filters

* Used antifreeze

NO LONGER ACCEPTED AS RECYCLABLES

* Glass - green and blue glass bottles and jars

* Junk mail
 

Markets for these recyclables are no longer readily available; therefore, these items
will not be accepted at the landfill's convenience center recycling area. Please dispose
of these materials along with your household trash.

Hours: M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sat 10:00 am - 2:00 pm (Closed Sun)
Acceptable materials are: aluminum cans, newspaper, cardboard, clear & brown
glass food or beverage containers. No trash or garbage accepted at this site.

Republic Waste Services - 3479 Daniely Waterwheel Rd., Burlington
Hours: M-F 11:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sat 7:00 am - Noon (Closed Sun)
Acceptable materials are: aluminum cans, newspaper, cardboard, clear & brown 
glass food or beverage containers. No trash or garbage accepted at this site.
