Be a Volunteer
Volunteers are a major part of Alamance County Special Olympics (ACSO). Since more athletes are participating in local competition than ever before, more volunteers are needed to serve as coaches, officials, chaperons, competition organizers, local committee members, fund-raisers, and many other positions. Our volunteers represent a wide range of people including business men and women, students, amateur and professional athletes, sports officials, coaches, teachers, and parents.
Be an In-Kind Donor
Groups, clubs, churches, and businesses can be a part of Special Olympics providing volunteers, use of facilities and donations of goods and services, including food, supplies, equipment, or professional assistance.
Be a Financial Donor
ACSO is a nonprofit organization and is supported through private contributions raised from individuals, organizations, corporations, foundations, and other sources. No athlete ever pays a fee to participate in training or competition in Special Olympics, so contributions are very important. ACSO does not receive funds from Special Olympics International, the United Way, or any governmental body. Therefore, in order to provide quality athletic competitions, we must raise all our money from resources in Alamance County.
