Web 2.0 technologies are designed to improve communication of both text and multimedia between users on the web.  The term "Web 2.0" is a broad term that covers things like blogs, videos, photo sharing, social networking, and wikis.  Popular examples include sites such as Wikipedia, Flickr, and YouTube.

Here at Alamance-NC, we are looking into how to make these types of technologies work for you here at our website.  Governments, of course, have very different needs and missions than an artist who posts a MySpace site, and so we're carefully looking at how these technologies can help us fulfill these missions without sacrificing the integrity you expect from your county government.

We are launching our new site with a few blogs, some Twitter feeds, and, of course, our county videos.  Over the next few months, we hope to add other technologies that you can both enjoy and find useful as you do business with Alamance County.
