Program runs through October 1, 2010

Alamance PARC (Physical Activity & Recreation Challenge) Passport Program is a way for families and friends to come together and explore new recreational activities.  Using the passport booklet as a guide you will visit several local parks and find your passport stickers.  After you have collected all 10 stickers and complete the booklet return it for several prize drawings!  Visit www.parc2010.com for more information.

Free event for Children ages 5-12.  Prizes given for Most Fish Caught & Longest Fish Caught in three age divisions and one prize for First Fish Caught overall.  Space is Limited to the first 125 regirstrants.  Pre-registration is required and begins September 13.  Register online at www.countyrec.net or call 229-2379 beginning September 13th.

Each child is allowed to bring one fishing rod and live bait (worms & crickets only).  Adults are allowed to assist, but not fish or have a rod.  Lunch will be provided.  Winners will be announced after lunch.  No smoking around the pond.  (Rain date: September 19 at 1:00pm)

Fishing at Cedarock

Cedarock Park offers a 1/2 acre pond and stream banks for fishing.  There is a 6 fish-per-day limit per person.  A fishing license is required for anyone 16 or older.

Kayaks and Canoes

Kayaks and Canoes available for seasonal use in the Rock Creek at Cedarock Park.  For more information go to the Visitors Center at the end of the park. (Use may be limited due to creek conditions.)
