Helpful Tips in an Emergency

When calling 911…

  • know the location/address of the emergency
  • what kind of emergency (chest pain, car accident, breathing difficulty, etc.)
  • number of patients
  • stay calm

In some occasions, first responders, fire dept and police/sheriffs deputy may arrive before the ambulance to assist. Also, medical helicopters are often called for transport of critical patients to a trauma center.

It is a good idea to have a list of

  • personal info (DOB, insurance info and emergency contact)
  • medications, medical history & allergies.

Keep this info where it is easily accessible to family or emergency personnel.

Remember, when you see emergency vehicles with their emergency lights on, please move to the right!!!
