Event Description: The Yee-Haw! River Paddle brings together paddlers of all skill levels to share the Haw River as a community. The proceeds from the event support the Haw River Trail Partnership in furtherance of our "Conservation through Recreation" mission.
Paddle Route: This year's event features two paddles, a Family & Beginners' Paddle in the morning and the Yee-Haw! River Paddle in the afternoon. The morning paddle will be held at the Indian Valley Paddle Access, which features calm, flat water ideal for families and new beginners. Free boat rental for this portion of the paddle is sponsored by the Haw River Canoe & Kayak Co., Three Rivers Outfitters, and River Run Outfitters.
The afternoon paddle route begins with put-in at Shallow Ford Paddle Access and ends at Indian Valley Paddle Access. This section of river is suitable for all skill levels, featuring 4 miles of river with seven Class I rapids. It will take approximately 2 hours to paddle this section.
Parking and Registration Location: All participants should park and check-in at the parking lot of Burlington's Indian Valley Golf Course located at 1005 Indian Valley Drive, Burlington, NC, 27217. The Indian Valley Paddle Access is a short walk from the parking lot. Afternoon paddlers will be shuttled to Shallow Ford Paddle Access for put-in.
Boat Rentals: Paddlers participating in the afternoon Yee-Haw! River Paddle should contact one of our participating outfitters to arrange a rental in advance,* or bring your own boat. There will be very few additional boats available for rental on the day of the event.
We are offering free Yee-Haw! Paddle Registration for members of the 5280 Club.
