The American Rescue Plan Act 2021 was signed into law on March 11th, 2021. Alamance County Government is expected to receive an estimated $32,925,136.00 total in American Rescue Plan (ARP) Coronavirus State & Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). Alamance County received $16,462,568.00, the first half of the ARP allocation, on May 19, 2021. The second tranche may be received in May 2022. Any funding municipalities in Alamance County received is separate from the County\u2019s allocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, these funds may be used to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Support public health expenditures,<\/strong>\u00a0by funding COVID-19 mitigation efforts, medical expenses, behavioral healthcare, and certain public health and safety staff;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Address negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency,<\/strong>\u00a0including economic harms to workers, households, small businesses, impacted industries, and the public sector;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Replace lost public sector revenue,<\/strong>\u00a0using this funding to provide government services to the extent of the reduction in revenue experienced due to the pandemic;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Provide premium pay for essential workers,\u00a0<\/strong>offering additional support to those who have borne and will bear the greatest health risks because of their service in critical infrastructure sectors; and,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Invest in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure,\u00a0<\/strong>making necessary investments to improve access to clean drinking water, support vital wastewater and storm water infrastructure, and to expand access to broadband internet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
