County Government Academy Overview

The goal of the Alamance County Government Academy is to raise awareness about the responsibilities of county government and its vital role in the community. Participants will have a better understanding of the services and programs that county government provides to the residents.

Participants must be residents of Alamance County and are expected to attend every session. Members serving on board-appointed advisory boards/committees are encouraged to sign-up. Class size is limited, and the academy slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The academy meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:30pm for 10 weeks in the fall/spring. The sessions are held at various county departments that includes tours of the facilities like 911 Communications, Emergency Medical Services, Burlington-Alamance Regional Airport, and the County Landfill.
