County Seeking Applicants for Planning Board

Are you interested in land use planning, policy, or development? Alamance County is looking for a new member to serve as an alternate in an unexpired term that ends December 2014, after which the member may apply for reappointment for a full 3-year term.

The Planning Board is an advisory board to the County Commissioners; its responsibilities and duties include the review of new ordinances, review of ordinance amendments, subdivision waivers, and other matters pertaining to long-range land use planning. Visit the Planning Department website to view the current plans and ordinances.

The Planning Board meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room located at 124 West Elm Street in Graham.

Currently the Planning Board does not have representation from Albright, Coble, Faucette, or Haw River townships.  Click here to see a map of the townships.
