New! Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Programs

Alamance Parks has launched a new Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Program. These programs are open and inclusive to people of all abilities ages 8+ (16 and under require adult supervision). Check out the schedule below and please join us!

Functional Fitness: Functional Fitness is an overall fitness and wellness program. It will be held at accessible parks throughout Alamance County including, Willowbrook Arboretum, Burlington City Park, Mebane Community Park, Joe C Davidson Park, Springwood Trail, and Bill Cooke Park. Family Pickleball • June 24, 9am at Eli Whitney Community Center:

Join us for Family Pickleball! This will be held at Eli Whitney Recreation Center and will begin at 9 am! Families and/or friends will make teams of 2 people. This will be a causal program, where you and your family can learn the basic rules and try a new sport in a stress-free, judgment-free way! There will be music, muffins, and other snacks. Registration: Please register each person separately! If you do not have a partner, feel free to sign up and we will match you up the day of.

What is Pickleball:
Pickleball is considered one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. It is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, using a Pickleball paddle and a whiffle-type ball.
