New! Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Programs

Alamance Parks has launched a new Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Program. These programs are open and inclusive to people of all abilities ages 8+ (16 and under require adult supervision). Check out the schedule below and please join us!

Trail Walking: Participants in Trail Walking will meet once a month at one of the many great trails in Alamance County. This program is perfect for those who are new to trails and want to get active while being outdoors. Visit the website calendar or view the graphic below for the spring schedule.    

Yoga Made Easy: This program is held on Thursdays at 5:30pm at the Pleasant Grove Community Center. This class is catered to participants who are new to yoga but all skill levels are welcome. Everything needed to participate, including mats and blocks, will be provided. Visit the website calendar or view the graphic below for the spring schedule.    

Functional Fitness: This is a 6-week Overall Wellness and Fitness Program. It will be held at accessible parks throughout Alamance County including, Willowbrook Arboretum, Burlington City Park, Mebane Community Park, Joe C Davidson Park, Springwood Trail, and Bill Cooke Park. Two classes will be offered each week.  One will be in the evenings (5:15-6:45 pm) and the other will be in the mornings (9:30-11:00 am). The program will include cardio, flexibility, balance, and strengthening. Please dress in appropriate clothing and make sure to bring your own water.

Functional Fitness is Cancelled for Wednesday, 5/25 Due to Inclement Weather

Limited Transportation will be provided for the morning sessions if you live within 10 miles of the park of the day *first come, first serve*.
