Alamance Parks offers access to the outdoors through Cedarock Park, Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area, Great Bend Park, Shallow Ford Natural Area, Swepsonville River ParkSaxapahaw Island Park, and other sections of the Haw River Trail. The parks department manages 1200 acres of land, offering a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities for the local community.

Alamance County is committed to providing sustainable trails for a wide variety of trail uses and skill levels. In 2015, Alamance County adopted the Alamance County Trails Plan providing a guideline for future trails and greenways in our community. Currently, Alamance Parks offers trails at Cedarock Park, Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area, the Haw River Land Trail (including Shallow Ford Natural Area and Great Bend Park, Saxapahaw Island Park, and Sweponsville River Park), and the Haw River Paddle Trail.
