A Benefit For the Haw River Trail
The YeeHaw! River Paddle brings together paddlers of all skill levels to enjoy the Haw River as a community. Proceeds from the event support the Haw River Trail in furtherance of our “Conservation through Recreation” mission.

All participants must park at B. Everett Jordan Elementary School at the ball field parking lot. We will shuttle you and your boats down to the river.

This year’s event features two paddles, a Family & Beginners’ Paddle and the YeeHaw! River Paddle. The YeeHaw! Paddle will take place on the south stretch of river from the paddle access at Saxapahaw to the Union Bridge Paddle Access. This 5.5-mile stretch is appropriate for beginner-intermediate paddlers, featuring a blend of flat water and class 1 rapids with beautiful views of the river and its wildlife. It will take approximately 2.5 hours to paddle this section. Participants will need to bring their own boat or arrange rental in advance with a participating outfitter: (Haw River Canoe & Kayak Company, River Run Outfitters, and Three Rivers Outfitters). Outfitter contact information is available at https://www.thehaw.org/land-trail/amenities/outfitters/. No extra rental boats will be available at the event. You must arrange ahead of time.
The Family & Beginners’ Paddle route begins at Saxapahaw Lake above the dam. Participants will have an hour to paddle the flat water section and get comfortable. Boats will be provided at no cost by our sponsoring outfitters. NO personal boats, please. No walk-ups you must register in advance.
$20 for adults
$10 for kids 12 and under

Paddlers for the Family & Beginners’ Paddle do NOT need to contact an outfitter prior to the event. You will be matched with a boat at the event. No personal boats for this paddle, please. No walk-ups.
Paddlers participating in the YeeHaw! River Paddle should bring their own boat, or contact one of our participating outfitters
*Note: The participating outfitters will be on-site with their rental equipment- if you are renting from a participating outfitter you will not need to transport your boat. Please make your rental arrangements in advance of the event.
**Paddling is an inherently dangerous activity. By registering to participate in the 2019 12th Annual Yee-Haw! River Paddle, you are agreeing that you have reviewed and agree to the terms of the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk (this can be found on the Haw River Trail website: Release of Liability. Please read and review this document, but it is not necessary to print or bring it.
