We need you! Volunteer with Alamance Parks and make a difference in your community!

Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • Visually Impaired Program – March 23 VIP Miniature Golf Tournament
    • Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, 8:30am-2:00pm at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, NC
    • Volunteers are needed to work as sighted guides to assist the participants with lining up the putts, describing the layout of the course, pointing out obstacles, obtaining lunch, and any other capacity needed. You would be randomly assigned to other players.
    • Volunteer check-in is at 8:30am.

  • Trailathlon – March 23, Glencoe
    • Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, 9am-12:00pm in Glencoe
    • Volunteers are needed for course direction, participant transition facilitator, and for the cheering squad.

  • Friends of Alamance Parks Beautification Team Lead and Volunteers
    • We are seeking team leaders and volunteers for the newly created Friends of Alamance Parks Beautification group. The group lead will help organize park cleanup events and communicate with the group of volunteers regarding cleanup logistics.
    • If you have ideas and feel called to serve as the team lead, or would simply like to volunteer, contact: Anna Bowland at anna.bowland@alamance-nc.com
  • Youth Athletics Coaching
    • Volunteer coaches are needed for youth sports including football, basketball and baseball.

  • Trail Building at Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area
    • New volunteers are invited to join the group, which generally meets on Monday mornings at 9am. No experience is necessary, and tools will be provided.
    • Volunteering is coordinated through the Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area Volunteers

  • Trail Building along the Haw River Trail/Mountains-to-Sea Trail
    • New volunteers are invited to join the group, which generally meets on the third Saturday of the month (except during July and August). No experience is necessary, and tools will be provided.
    • Volunteering is coordinated through Alamance Task Force of the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (FMST) and Friends of Alamance Parks – Trails.
