The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office and Actively Changing Together (ACT) have partnered to raise money to fund a special Christmas inmate project. Over $4,000 was raised so that each inmate in the Alamance County Detention Center would have money on their accounts to call home for Christmas or buy items from the canteen. Local churches and organizations raised over $2,500 with the Sheriff sponsoring$1,500.

“This was an opportunity to let our inmates know that we at the Sheriff’s Office along with many residents and local churches care about them. We wanted to help make their Christmas a little less lonely by providing money that they can use to connect with their families at Christmas,” said Sheriff Terry Johnson.
