On Friday, July 30, 2021, at approximately 8:30 pm, deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Strike Teams received information of a possible stolen motor vehicle located at the Lofts Apartments in Mebane.
As the Strike Team deputies responded to the area, the stolen vehicle which was described as a silver Chevrolet Cruze with exterior body damage was identified in the parking lot of the apartment complex. When deputies approached the vehicle, the driver attempted to flee by reversing the vehicle while in the parking lot.
The driver then struck a parked vehicle while attempting to evade the deputies. Due to pedestrian traffic in the same parking lot, a member of the strike team struck the stolen vehicle with an agency-issued vehicle to prevent any further actions by the driver of the stolen motor vehicle.
As a result, two subjects were taken into custody and narcotics were located and seized from the vehicle. Both subjects were then booked into the Alamance County Detention Center.
