On August 13, 2021, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen 2003 white Chevrolet Trailblazer. Deputies were told that the victim’s girlfriend, Heather, may be involved. After investigators identified the suspect and verified her involvement, charges were taken out on Heather Toney. 

On August 21, 2021, deputies located the stolen vehicle in the driveway at 4633 Tangle Ridge Trail in Burlington. Ms. Heather Toney was arrested by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office and given a $1000 secured bond.

On August 11, 2021, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to U.S. Highway 70 in Mebane in reference to a stolen trailer. The victim told deputies that a Kaufman Dual Axle trailer was taken from a jobsite by a male who told those working at the site that he worked for Mike Spearman Grading. After an investigation, officers identified the suspect as Ray Allen Simmons who was later arrested by the Kernersville Police Department on August 25 and given a $2,500 secured bond.
