On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at approximately 8:52 a.m., the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a death on Wormranch Road in Haw River. When officers, along with EMS arrived, they found Tammy Lynn Gay deceased in the bedroom on the floor beside the bed.
During the death investigation, Mark Twain Cagle stated that he and Ms. Gay had been in a relationship and that there was an active domestic violence protective order against him. Despite the order, he admitted that he spent time with Ms. Gay all day. Once the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Criminal Investigations Division completed their investigation, deputies transported Mr. Mark Cagle to the Alamance County Detention Center.
