On 7-25-2022, Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office received a report of multiple tools (power and hand), stolen from 4677 Cobb Rd Liberty, N.C. (Alamance Co.) The victim stated that he has been trying to sell this residence, and went to the property in early May, 2022. While there, he noticed that his detached garage door was open, and majority of his tools were missing from the garage.
After Investigators spoke with the victim, a search was made through pawn records of tools that were missing from the garage. It was determined that on 5-2-2022, Jonathan Lee Willets, had pawned a specific tool set that belonged to the victim at a Burlington Pawn Shop which was confirmed by the victim.
Considering the pawn ticket that was discovered, the specific tool set that was confirmed by the victim, and along with the timeframe that was provided to Investigators when the crime occurred, warrants were obtained on Mr. Willets for breaking and/or entering, larceny after breaking and/or entering, felony larceny, and obtaining property by false pretense.
