Sheriff Johnson Attends North Carolina Sheriffs’ Legislative Reception

The rain did not stop sheriffs from all regions of the state from coming to Raleigh to welcome General Assembly members back for the 2023 Legislative Session.

A large, impressive number of sheriffs and sheriffs’ personnel attended the Association Executives of North Carolina’s 2023 Legislative Reception on Wednesday night.

During the event held at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences’ Nature Exploration Center, sheriffs were able to meet with legislators, members of the Council of State, state government officials and other professional association executives.

“As we prepare for another busy year at the General Assembly, the AENC Legislative Reception gives sheriffs a wonderful opportunity to discuss legislative topics related to the Office of Sheriff with General Assembly members,” said Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood, the Association’s President.

The North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association has been a proud co-sponsor of the annual AENC event for many years.

Sheriff Johnson said, “It was a distinct honor for me to attend the Legislative Reception.”

Sheriff Johnson is Co-Chair on the Sheriff’s Association’s Legislative Committee, Co-Chair of the Training and Standards Committee and sits on the Activities Committee.
