Overview
The Alamance County Detention Center serves the residents of the county by providing a safe, secure, and humane environment for those charged or convicted of criminal or civil offenses.
Detention Center
The Detention Center was constructed in 2006 and opened in 2007 with a capacity of 240 beds. This along with 156 beds in the original detention facility and 80 in the Annex increased the total beds to 476.
Detention Staff
There are currently approximately 150 positions assigned to Detention which includes the following divisions: four platoons, personnel/support, facilities/maintenance, and administration.
