The Land Records Section is part of the Real Property Division of the Tax Department. This section is responsible for maintaining our records of the ownership, location, and boundaries of approximately 70,000 parcels.

There are four persons in the Land Records Section:

  • Land Records Supervisor
  • (3) Transfer Clerks

The Land Records Section updates property records to reflect the transfer, division, combination, and/or acreage correction of real property. They typically follow the Register of Deeds by 2-3 weeks. They conduct research to answer a variety of questions from citizens and staff.  Land Records is currently in the process of scanning and preserving various important historical documents from the Tax Department, such as our HISTORIC TAX MAPS as well as WT HALL MAPS.
