On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, members of the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation Team were conducting an online investigation which lead to the arrest of Edwin Alexis Menjivar Barillas.
Mr. Menjivar Barillas solicited sex acts from whom he believed to be a minor in Alamance County on a social media site. He then appeared at a predetermined location to engage in the acts. When he arrived at the location, he was quickly taken into custody by members of the Human Exploitation Team.
Mr. Menjivar Barillas was taken before the Magistrate at the Alamance County Detention Center where he received a $10,000 secured bond.
