On June 12, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call on Bass Mountain Road in Snow Camp. The caller stated that her son, William Mayes, had threatened to kill her.
After arriving on scene, deputies were notified that Mr. Mayes was in close proximity and soon came into contact with him as he was trying to flee in a vehicle. Deputies attempted to stop Mr. Mayes and a short vehicle pursuit commenced down Keystone Raod towards Bass Mountain Road. Deputies were successful in blocking Mr. Mayes at the intersection of Keystone Road. and Bass Mountain Road, and Mr. Mayes was taken into custody.
