On December 4, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office participated in a check point at the intersection of Thompson Mill Road and Bass Mountain Road. A deputy observed a vehicle that tried to avoid the intersection and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Patrick Neil Davis, had a suspended driver’s license and one outstanding order for arrest. Mr. Davis was detained. The officer then deployed a K9 for an exterior sniff of the vehicle who gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics on the passenger’s side door. Two small baggies stuffed under a seat were found consistent with narcotic use and distribution.

Mr. Davis was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center. During booking, the sergeant discovered loose cocaine in the seat of the patrol vehicle where Mr. Davis had been sitting. He was then charged with felony possession of cocaine and cited for driving while license was revoked. He was also served an outstanding order for arrest. Mr. Davis received a $5,000 secured bond and preset a $400 cash bond on the OFA.
