On Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 4:00 p.m., a School Resource Officer at Southern Alamance High School received a report of an individual possessing a pistol in one of the school parking lots. On arrival to the parking lot, the SRO was unable to locate the individual or vehicle.

The next day, Thursday October 13, 2022, Detectives assigned to investigate the case, identified and located the vehicle which was being driven by a female matching the description seen in videos of the incident. Deputies immediately conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Terri Lynn Yarboro of Graham, N.C.

Ms. Yarboro admitted to possessing the firearm on campus.  Deputies seized the firearm and transported Ms. Yarboro to the Alamance County Detention Center.

The incident did not pose a threat to students or staff at the school as it involved an argument between Ms. Yarboro and another driver in the school parking lot. The firearm was never discharged or pointed at any individual.

Ms. Yarbor has been tresspassed from Southern Alamance High School for the remaider of the school year.
