On Thursday, April 20, 2023, Deputies received a report of auto larceny in Mebane. The victim stated that his vehicle had been taken from his residence, without his permission, by a female who he had just met.
On Friday, April 21, 2023, the victim reported that his wallet was also in the vehicle and that his debit card had been used at several area ATM’s totaling approximately $1,750.
During the investigation, Deputies retrieved photos of the female from various ATM’s. These photos were used to identify the suspect, Ashley Victoria Bennett.
The victim viewed the photos and confirmed that was the female who stole his vehicle. Warrants were obtained for Ms. Bennett who was arrested on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
