On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Deputies received a report of a break in at Ossipee Baptist Church on Old NC Hwy 87, Elon, NC. The reporting party told Deputies that a computer and music equipment were stolen.
On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, Deputies received a report of a break in of outbuildings at Western Middle School on Eldon Dr., Elon, NC. The reporting party told Deputies that footballs and a water cooler were stolen.
During the investigations, Detectives determined that Jonathan Lynn Wright was the suspect in both break ins. Detectives developed probable cause to request a search warrant. A search warrant was executed at the residence of Wright’s girlfriend. Detectives found property which was stolen from the Church and middle school.
Detectives secured warrants for Mr. Wright’s arrest but his whereabouts were unknown.
On Friday, July 28, 2023, Mr. Wright was arrested by the Burlington Police Department.
This case remains under investigation.
