On Friday, November 3, 2023 at approximately 2:40 p.m., an ACSO Deputy traveling north on Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Rd. observed a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lane. The Deputy attempted a traffic stop for driving left of center.

The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was initiated with the vehicle eventually stopping on Salem Church Rd.

The driver, identified as William Coletrane, was believed to be intoxicated and found to have an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Mr. Coletrane was arrested and transported to the Alamance County detention Center.
