On June 30, 2021 at 11:50 p.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Clyde Henry Newby Jr. on a traffic stop after 167g of Methamphetamine was found in the vehicle that he was driving. Deputies stopped Mr. Newby who was traveling South on N NC Highway 87 due to a strong odor of Marijuana coming from his vehicle. After a probable cause search of the vehicle, a large plastic bag containing Methamphetamine, a digital scale, plastic baggies, and eleven Oxycodone pills were located inside of a bookbag in the trunk of the vehicle.
