On Monday, November 16 at their regular meeting, the Alamance County Commissioners honored Emily Wrightenberry.
Ms. Wrightenberry, a former dispatcher from Central Communications (911) who has since been employed by the District Attorney’s Office as a legal aide, was honored for the performance of her duties during the early morning hours of October 13. She answered a 911 call from Bryan Wescott, who needed an ambulance for his wife, Amanda, who was in labor.
While the family waited for an ambulance, Emily talked the couple through the birth process, and Amanda delivered Esther Joy into the world (audio below).
The county commissioners honored Emily with a plaque and congratulated the parents on the birth of their daughter.
