With Alamance County Emergency Alerts (A.C.E. Alerts) residents of Alamance County, including all municipalities, can now receive important, official information directly from Alamance County Emergency Management and other Public Safety agencies through Nixle. Messages can be delivered by email, SMS text message, voice message and over the web.
How the System Works:

Through Alamance County Emergency Mangement’s partnership with Nixle you stay connected and receive trusted and immediate, geographically relevant information.
Information is immediately available over your cell phone by text message, by email, by voice message and over the web and your account can be customized so you receive the information that matters most to you. Whether it is where you live, work, or have friends or family throughout the country, the information is immediately available to you over your mobile phone, home phone, email and computer.
Emergency Notifications are activated by authorized public safety and emergency management personnel and will provide you with information related to severe weather response and recovery, evacuation or shelter-in-place notifications, after incident resources, and other information vital to your safety and well-being.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I receive Weather Watches and Warnings?
- At this time only Tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service will be rebroadcast through our platform. We recommend that you have a NOAA All Hazards radio and subscribe to weather watches and warnings through other services. If severe weather warrants a response and recovery effort, sheltering, or other services and aide updates will be shared through our alerting system.
Can I register my home phone?
- Published landline phone numbers and the numbers of people who have self-registered for the service are included. VoIP numbers can be registered manually.
I don’t have a landline; may I register a mobile phone?
- Yes, you may register a mobile number by following the register here link above or by texting ALAMANCE to 888777. This will allow you to receive SMS text messages. To assure you only receive messages relevant to your desired locations reply with your zip code To receive voice messages on your mobile phone and register multiple locations sign-up at www.nixle.com to personalize your account.
Will you leave a message or voicemail if I do not answer?
- A message will be left on an answering machine or voicemail if you do not answer the phone call.
