The Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom Ag Mags are 4-page, colorful agricultural magazines for kids. They contain information about agriculture, bright pictures, classroom activities and agricultural careers.

Ags Cool Teacher Info
Endorsed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Public Instruction, this website was designed with both the teacher and the student in mind. The teacher section of AG’s COOL has lots of commodity information, teacher tips and supplemental activity materials all with links to appropriate pages to help give you the most accurate, up-to-date information.

American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture provides lesson plans, activity sheets, games, eComics, and Videos (virtual field trips).

Food & Ag Resource Guide
American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture provides a variety of lesson plans from PreK through 8th grade.

National Agriculture in the Classroom 
This organization provides teachers with comprehensive resources and connections to improve agriculture literacy for preschool through 12th grade students. One of the resources is the National Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix which allows teachers to save and submit lesson plans.

NC Ag in the Classroom
Farm Bureau of NC offers K-8th grade agricultural lesson plans on a variety of topics that incorporate vocabulary skills, activities, and resources into a comprehensive lesson plan. Book of the month is also offered for $5.00, and teachers are able to download a correlating activity sheet for free.

Wildlife Resources 
The North Carolina Environthon offers wildlife resources and study guides for both middle and high school students.

Grants

Ag in the Classroom…Going Local Program
Farm Bureau of North Carolina offers $500 grants to teachers for projects relating to agriculture industry.

American Farm Bureau Foundation Teacher Resource Grants
Grants will provide funds ($50) to educators for the purchase of agricultural literacy materials from the AFBFA store for their classrooms.

White-Reinhardt Mini-Grants
White-Reinhardt Mini-Grant Program funds projects that will increase agricultural literacy up to $500. Please contact your local Farm Bureau if you are interested in a project as they will need to submit the grant.

Field Trips

NC Agriculture Field Trips
LEARN NC was a program by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Education; it is now a historical archive, but includes a rich list of agricultural field trips across the state.

Homeland Creamery Dairy Farm Tours
Tours include a hands-on milking demonstration, hayride, newborn calves visitation, and ice cream samples. Cost per person is $7+tax.

Agriculture and Soybean Presentation
The North Carolina Soybean Producers Association offers educational programs that focus on soybeans and agriculture to libraries and classrooms. If you are interested to host a program or receive two free books, you must fill out a very short request form.
