Purpose: The purpose and responsibilities of the Board shall be to serve for Workforce Development in the Local Area to facilitate, plan and coordinate workforce development resources to maximize the efforts of government, business and education; and to provide policy guidance for and exercise oversight with respect to activities conducted under the federally mandated Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (hereinafter referred to as the WIOA) in partnership with the Piedmont Triad Regional Job Training Consortium (hereinafter referred to as the Consortium). The Consortium shall be represented by a designated County Commissioner of the respective political jurisdictions.
