Volunteer at ACPL

We are looking for teen volunteers age 14 and older to help with this year’s summer reading program. Teen Volunteers work an average of 3-6 hours a week and hours can be flexible to work around other summer plans. Volunteers help with a variety of tasks, registering children for the Summer Reading Program, shelving, assisting librarians with special projects and performance events.

WHAT DO TEEN LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS DO?

If you enjoy libraries, books, learning new skills, and benefiting your community, we will do our best to find the right volunteer job for you. ACPL offers these opportunities from which you can choose, and training will be provided.

Summer Reading Program
Assist youth services librarian with special programs and events, including setup, crowd control, clean up, and helping with registering, maintaining, distributing summer reading forms and prizes. Teens are encouraged to volunteer.

Library Support Services
Volunteers needed for a variety of capacities assisting staff with ongoing library tasks, including book and other mending and repairs, reinforcing paperbacks, cleaning and /or repackaging audiovisual materials, dusting, cleaning, and recovering books and shelves, and restocking public workstations with pencils and scrap paper.

ACPL now has access to the Indie Author Project submission platform, powered by Library Journal, available. The Indie Author Project (IAP) is a publishing community that is free for all authors, no matter how you have chosen to indie publish. Once submitted, your book will be passed through the review process, and you will be notified within 4–6 weeks if your book has been chosen as an Indie Author Project Selection.
